The Chinese Commerce Ministry is spot on when it said that Coca Cola would :-
1. Set up exclusive terms to restrict competition in the juice market
2. Drive up consumer prices .
3. Squeeze out smaller beverage makers.

I have not tried maple sap as yet, but I am putting it down on my list of things to do.  The sap is rich in minerals. In Southern South Korea it is really popular.

American owned Golden Circle’s new LOL juice has “Bad Stuff” according to dietitian Susie Burrell, from The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
Susie Burrell criticised Golden Circle for preying on kids. “They have a big enough market, they don’t have to target children like this. It is marketed in a way that makes it look healthy,” she said.
Bankstown Grammar School has banned the drink.  I have to agree with the outrage, it seems some American companies put dollars before common sense. Golden circles reputation has been tarnished, it is sad to see …

We might not have the so called sub prime loan infestation that is creating havoc in the USA, but we have the opposite. It is called super-primed loans, these loans are made in the time of booms when asset values are being pumped up by the greedy opportunists wanting to make a short term gains at the expense of others and the economy. Investigation by consumer group Choice, reveals:
* Fruit juices containing added extras such as herbal supplements or antioxidants do not have significant health benefits.
* May be harmful to some people.
*  Medicinal herbs in  juices should be banned unless specific approval is given after a proper safety assessment.
*  No evidence that taking antioxidants as a supplement provided any preventative benefit for cancer or heart disease.
*  Juice market is rife with claims which are not matched by reality.
